This afternoon there were very strong winds that took down a large tree limb in the park. After being calm for a few hours we now have rain and sheet lightning.

Petroglyph National Monument - July 23, 2009

Upon arrival trails were explored and animals were located. Much activity occurred. Time passed. Due to transportation difficulties a shady cluster of rocks to take refuge in was located and occupied for roughly 90 minutes at midday.

Tumblr was browsed for a minute portion of this time. A moderate and wholly reasonable amount of time was dedicated to the taking of gratuitous photographs. The rest was spent idly chatting and diligently avoiding the gigantic insects surrounding and invading our outpost.

Pizza was consumed when transportation issues were resolved.

The expedition was successful.
